This final report describes the activities and outcomes of a federally funded project that enabled the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic (YVFWC) to implement the Enhanced Yakima County Nurse-Family Partnership (EYCNFP) at Children's Village in Yakima, Washington, in partnership with the Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. The program provided nurse home visits to low-income pregnant women with additional Healthy Marriage/Responsibility Father services for clients and Mental Health Consultant services for program staff. The program was able to serve 155 first-time mothers and their children over the 5½ years of the demonstration project. Results from an evaluation of the program indicate the program was implemented with success and met the projected number of parents and children served. The program improved access to supportive community services, decreased family conflict/family management problems, improved parent-child interaction, reduced child maltreatment, and increased father/partner involvement over time. Implications of the results and future recommendations are discussed. 9 references.
