This article summarizes the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children’s report on evidence-based service planning (EBSP) in child welfare. Key points are discussed, including the focus on outcomes rather than participation in services and the ethical duty of child welfare agencies to ensure that mandated services are likely to be effective. Implications of EBSP for child welfare workers are explored. 7 references.
