Intended for California policymakers, this paper provides a comprehensive State-level roadmap developed by Children Now to ensure that all children have the necessary supports to reach their full potential in California. The agenda provides recommendations in the following areas: education, including infant and toddler care, preschool and kindergarten, early learning workforce compensation and training, education for dual and English language learners, integrated data and systems, funding, academic outcomes, STEM education, teacher preparation, school climate, absence, afterschool programs, and access to higher education; child health, including home visiting programs, developmental screenings and early intervention, health insurance, health care access, school-based health services, and food security; and child welfare, including child abuse and neglect prevention, placement stability, health care for foster children, education support for foster children, housing instability for youth in foster care, and youth justice.
