This chapter describes a pilot service that aimed to identify the social-emotional needs of preschool children (ages 0-4) in the care system quickly, promote their development and attachment to their caregivers, and to contribute towards better care planning. The rationale for the screening and intervention is discussed, as well as each stage in the process of implementing the social and emotional screening in London. 31 references.
