This chapter reviews the development of a specialist child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) operating in Western Sydney, Australia, over the past ten years. It describes a systemic approach to the work, the ways CAMHS processes need to be adjusted to allow for the special needs and circumstances of this population, and clinical aspects of the work, including issues of engagement, diagnosis, and treatment.
