Information is provided on reasons for entering foster care, accessing help, living options, family visitation, confidentiality, the rights of youth in foster care, laws that protect youth in foster care, resources that will help youth, responsibilities of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to foster youth and to the biological family, talking to foster parents and caseworker about needs and wants, the court process, transition to independent living, developing lifelong connections, and permanency.
