This chapter explores global trends and directions for providing care to children and youth, the role of social pedagogue, and the care experiences of youth across 12 European and central Asian countries. Findings indicate young people are not sufficiently prepared for leaving care and that the lack of preparation is strongly associated with institutionalization. Cross-national recommendations are made for improving care.
