Intended for Minnesota county and tribal social service agencies, this bulletin reports the Minnesota Department of Human Services will allocate a total of $834,578 in 2014 for the Support for Emancipation and Living Functionally (SELF) program. Guidance is provided on the eligible population for SELF funded services, allowable uses of funds, county/tribal use of 2014 funds, using funds for court reviews, components of court reviews, components for independent living plans for a child age 16 or older, training for resource families, and documentation required in the Social Service Information System. In addition, requirements for the fiscal management of the grant and budget instructions to receive funds are discussed. An attachment provides a chart showing the funds available for each county or tribe in Minnesota.
