This chapter highlights the S.A.F.E.R. (Sexual Abuse Family Evaluation for Reunification) model designed to assist therapists who are treating child sexual abuse victims and/or sexually aggressive youth around the process of family reunification. Levels of reunification are discussed, as well as systemic influences on reunification, issues with the juvenile justice system and with the child welfare system, the evaluation process, and steps for using the S.A.F.E.R. model. 1 figure and 3 references.
