This article explains the use of Reunification Conferences to reunite parents with their children in foster care. It describes Reunification Conferences as supportive, strength-based, and voluntary conferences that recognize the parents as the expert on his or her family. The conferences review exactly what is expected of the parent and break down those expectations into clear goals that are behavioral, measurable, and/or time-limited. A case example is offered.
