Supporting a Reunified Family, A Case Manager's Story.
National Foster Care Month 2016
Presents the story of Sandy, a foster parent through CEDAR Homes for Children in Nebraska. Sandy is also an advocate for children and youth throughout the child welfare system. While working with two children placed in her home, Sandy encouraged connections with the children’s biological mother to help them create a bond. She offered her a bed and a place to rest during home visits, made significant efforts to encourage reunification, and helped her find support when the mother's third biological child was born. This Real-Life Story was developed as part of National Foster Care Month 2016.
