This chapter explains the discrimination faced by Black gay, lesbian, and transgender (BGLT) individuals and the relevant core competencies needed by social workers to serve members of the BGLT community. Information is provided on stigma against BGLT people, mental health risk factors, resilience, and intervention strategies for young and older BGLT people.
