This chapter introduces five evidence-based treatments (EBTs) that have been applied to the child physical abuse (CPA) population, are included on the California Evidence-based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare website, and have at least one supporting controlled trial. The EBTs profiled include: SafeCare; Parent-Child Interaction Therapy; Multisystemic Therapy for Child Abuse and Neglect; Alternatives for Families: A Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; and Combined Parent-Child Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. 47 references.
