This website highlights the Safe Environment for Every Kid (SEEK) program, an evidence-based, practical model for improving primary healthcare for children and their families. SEEK helps primary healthcare professionals (PCPs) address common psychosocial problems, such as parental depression and substance use. It is designed to be used with families with children ages 0-5 years who have risk factors for child maltreatment such as parental depression or substance abuse. The SEEK program is meant to help strengthen families, support parents and parenting, and promote children’s health, development, and safety, and help prevent child abuse and neglect. Components of the program are described, as well as program goals, program delivery, the education and training of service providers, program implementation, and research showing promising results.
