This chapter explores the increased diversity of families involved in family courts and considers the implications for interparental conflict, co-parenting relationships, and psychosocial health in separating and divorcing families. The challenges of being culturally sensitive are discussed, as well as strategies for assessing the complexity of cultural and psychological development, and the importance of considering a combination of factors that contribute to family breakdown and divorce adjustment. Implications for practice are discussed. 1 table and numerous references.
