Intended for grandparents who are caring for their grandchildren and child welfare professionals, this webpage provides links to resources on the COVID-19 pandemic. General resources are linked that address: supporting grandfamilies through the COVID-19 crisis; keeping children health during the COVID-19 pandemic; receiving COVID-19 stimulus payments and how they impact grandfamilies; ways to promote children’s resilience to the COVID-19 pandemic; COVID-19 and child welfare cases; virtual visitation resources; and talking to children about the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional links are provided to resources that address legal issues, including guidance on conducting effective remote hearings in child welfare cases, and practice tips for delivering high-quality legal representation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The final section includes links for resources from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. These resources explain how to use federal funds to assist with the purchase of cell phones and personal protective equipment, guidelines for conducting backgrounds checks and monthly caseworker visits, and the extension of the deadline for applying for kinship navigator programs and transition grants.
