Links to policy recommendations are also provided for expanding services to protect older youth, an expulsion moratorium in California, a nationwide moratorium on juvenile fines and fees, a campaign to highlight the urgent needs of youth in and aging out of foster care during COVID-19, COVID-19 policy recommendations and resources for youth in the juvenile justice system, opposition to the California Judicial Council’s proposed COVID-19 response emergency action to extend timelines for arraignment, preliminary hearings, and trials, more protections for California youth in foster care during the COVID-19 pandemic, and for the expansion of protections for older youth and transition age youth during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional links are provided to YLC webinars on advocacy during COVID-19, and a resource series for supporting parents and foster parents connected to the child welfare system during the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, links are provided to webcasts on using media effectively with young children and visual visitation, and how resource families can support adolescents through the COVID-19 pandemic.
