This report presents the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada’s strategic 5-year plan for ensuring that every young person involved with the child welfare system in every part of Canada has every opportunity to thrive. It begins by explaining the organization is Canada’s leading charity dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth involved with the child welfare system, and that the organization raises and grants funds and design and deliver a wide range of high-impact programs and services in partnership with over 100 child- and youth-serving organizations across Canada. Information is provided on the young people served, including children and families at risk, children and youth living in government care, and youth transitioning out of care. The strategic vision and priorities for 2020-2025 are then discussed and include: grow unrestricted revenue for financial strength and sustainability; support and develop evidence-informed programs to maximize impact; address the issue of overrepresentation of Black and Indigenous children and youth in the child welfare system; strengthen capacity and impact as a national organization; and be a leading influencer of child welfare issues in Canada. Key activities are outlined for addressing each of these priorities and measurements of success are identified.
