This brief provides updates from citizen review panels (CRPs) in different States. This issue provides updates from Alaska, Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oregon, and Tennessee. Information is provided on major initiatives and accomplishments for 2018 that address efforts to: provide training on child fatality reviews, review worker safety, evaluate CAPTA plans, provide Narcan training for community service providers, conduct a survey on community resources for those who do not meet required criteria for assistance or intervention, analyze factors contributing to multiple foster care placements, examine data collection and program implementation in human trafficking, learn about the Family First Prevention Services Act, use the Collaborative Safety model from Tennessee to review the child protection system, sponsor a conference on male sexual abuse, reexamine CRPs and how they can best serve the State, recruit panel members, provide training on stress management, and address substance abuse. The brief closes with an article about attachment difficulties in children with incarcerated fathers, and an update on the National CRP Advisory Board.
