A study conducted a secondary analysis of two primary qualitative data sets that entailed transcripts from 46 interviews with professionals working with unaccompanied immigrant children in Chicago and marginalized youth in situations of high vulnerability and violence in Guatemala and Honduras. Findings demonstrate the anger and despair professionals feel regarding the social and political response to the structural violence many of the unaccompanied migrant children encounter, and ways to support children and youth professionally in order to create spaces of social belonging are discussed. 35 references.
