This article highlights a conversation by legal ethics expert during an ABA program on technology changes the legal profession has seen in the past 15 years, how those changes affect the ethical duties of lawyers, and how competence can be fulfilled in the digital age. The need for layers to keep up to date on the benefits and risks associated with relevant technology is emphasized. (Author abstract modified)
