This National Foster Parent Association’s Code of Ethics lists principles for successful family foster parenting, including: providing a safe and secure environment, providing a loving and stable family care environment, modeling healthy family living, providing positive guidance, promoting and supporting positive relationships, meeting physical and mental health care needs, promoting educational attainment and success, promoting social and emotional development, supporting permanency plans, growing as a foster parent, preparing youth for self-sufficiency, and advocating for resources.
