This chapter offers a social ecological perspective on educating immigrant children who may be traumatized. Challenges faced by immigrant children, risk and protective factors for immigrant children, cultural considerations, and the use of a strength-based approach that recognizes student strengths are discussed. Strategies teachers can use to support students are then explained. 3 tables and 61 references.
