A case study Is provided involving Australian youth workers who were engaged in providing child protection and youth work services to children and young people detained on Nauru, while knowing the camps breached international legal and human rights conventions. The youth workers opted to act as whistleblowers which led them to being forcibly removed from Nauru, some of the facing criminal prosecution. The implications for youth work practice and professional training are discussed. 50 references.
