Intended for parents, this webpage explains the impact COVID-19 can have on the social, emotional, and mental health of children and young people, and offers resources to assist parents in recognizing and addressing these challenges. It begins by describing some of the challenges children and young people may be facing during the COVID-19 pandemic, including changes in their routines, breaks in the continuity of their learning, breaks in the continuity of their health care, missed significant life events, and the loss of security and safety. Links to different types of resources to help parents support their children and young people are then listed for children in early childhood (ages birth through five), childhood (ages six through 12), adolescence (ages 13 through 17), and young adults (ages 18 to 24). The resources include activities, board games, conversation starters, social media, medical information on COVID-19, information on staying healthy, and staying healthy in school. Additional resources are linked for parents that include recommendations for talking with children, handling stress, and coping skills.
